Murrumbateman passivhaus

About the Project

The Murrumbateman Passivhaus is 'Passivhaus Plus' certified. It was the 4th certified new residential build for New South Wales and 23rd in Australia. The house has a 7.2kw PV system and connected to tankwater only. Recycled Canberra Red bricks were used as cladding, an internal feature wall, external kitchen and various paving areas. Recycled hardwood telegraph poles were used in the pergola with climbing Ornamental Grape to allow for shading in summer and full sun in winter. Using recycled materials decreased the embodied energy of the build and added character to the home.
